A friend of mine asked me who my best friends were… Hmmm…
1- Those are the types of questions you get when you’re stuck in highschool, like it’s not enough that you’re already trying hard to overlook their bad sides, you must have BFFs too?
2- I would have so much preferred to just say nobody was my best friend.
The arm of flesh will fail you,
You dare not trust your own. – Stand Up For Jesus, chorus
But I really thought about it for a while as though it was a serious question and realized that all those so-called “best friends” have hurt me at some point, some more than others, and maybe it is true that I don’t want to become too close to anyone anymore.
I have had great friends that I ended up being separated from, we had the best times together and just recently a very good friend of mine had to move to another country. It’s really just another sad story, but it pains me to let them go, since they are so rare.
And I’ve also had two-faced backstabbing egotistics too that I ended up loving… Life is so unpredictable
I’ve learned to love them all : nice or horrible
Why do we tend to push people away ?
Everyone has that one person who tortured them at some point, or maybe even a whole bunch of people but we just can’t not like them and ignore them, because of what they do.
In fact, we all sin and only Jesus Christ is and forever will be perfect. You just have to accept everyone despite their flaws.
Matthew 25 : 34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
So my final word is instead of looking for that perfect friend, try to be that perfect friend everyday to everyone you meet. And may the grace of The Lord be with you as you do so, I understand how hard it can be to love some people.
I’m listening to a Vanessa Carlton custom radio on Iheartradio now, I love the piano in the background, it really lifts my mood.
